Enrolment Process
Each year the kindergarten takes approximately 22 children in the 3 year old group and 25 children in the 4 year old group. It is usual that the 3 year olds progress to the 4 year old group in the following year. As a result there are only a few 4 year old positions offered each year to other children on the waiting list.
When to enrol at Middle Park Kindergarten
Registrations for Middle Park Kindergarten will be accepted at any time from the first Monday in April, 2 years prior to commencement of 3 year old kinder and 3 years prior to the commencement of 4 year old kinder.
Please do not send in registrations prior to this date.
The waiting list for 2011 opened in April 2009.
The waiting list for 2012 opened on Monday 5th April, 2010.
For 3 year old kinder in 2012 children must be 3 years old at 31st January, 2012.
For 4 year old kinder in 2012, children must be 4 years old at 30th April, 2012.
What are the age requirements for enrolment
For 3 Year Old Kinder your child must be 3 years old by 31st January of the year to commence.

For 4 Year Old Kinder your child must be 4 years old by 30th April of the year to commence.
How to enrol at Middle Park Kindergarten
In order to register your child on the waitlist they must be a resident of the City of Port Phillip.
Complete a registration form and forward it to the kinder along with a $30 non-refundable waiting list fee.
Once this has been received your child’s name will be placed on the waitlist and you will receive notification of this. This waitlists your child and does not guarantee them a position.
Once on the waitlist it is YOUR responsibility to keep your contact information current.
Please advise any changes in writing.
Is it our recommendation that you waitlist your child at other kindergartens in the area to avoid the disappointment of not being offered a position.
Making an offer of a place at Middle Park Kindergarten
Offers of places will be made in accordance with the selection criteria. The offers of places will be made during the year prior to commencement at the kinder.
We ordinarily commence making offers of places in June/July and then work our way through the waiting list until all positions are filled.
If you receive a letter of offer for a place then return the acceptance portion of the letter to the kinder by the date set out on the letter together with a non-refundable $100 administration fee.
The kinder place will remain secure until due date of term one fees.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified in writing once all positions have been finalised – this may take until October/November of the year prior.
Orientation sessions
If you have accepted a position you will be notified and invited by mail to attend an orientation session in October/ November (year prior to commencement).
This will be enable children to attend the kinder with their parents/ carers. This provides an opportunity for everyone to familarise themselves with the kinder, staff, Committee members and to meet other children in their group. These are informal sessions.
At the orientation session you will be asked to complete an Enrolment Form. A child will not be deemed to be enrolled until the kindergarten has received a completed Enrolment Pack.
