Selection Criteria

Offers of enrolment for the 3 year old group are made to those children on the waiting list according to the following priority:
current 3 year old children for whom a second year as a 3 year old has been recommended
siblings of children who have previously attended the kindergarten (in the order in which their name appears on waiting list)
resident of the City of Port Phillip priority as follows:

  1. Middle Park / Albert Park
  2. Port Melbourne / South Melbourne/ St Kilda West / St Kilda Road
  3. St Kilda / St Kilda East / Elwood / Ripponlea
  (within each priority group in the order in which their name appears
  on the waiting list)
if there are any remaining positions available other children will be considered in the order in which their name appears on the waiting list.

Offers of enrolment for the 4 year group are firstly made to current 4 year old children for whom a second year has been recommended and then to those children who are continuing on from the 3 year old group.

If there are any remaining positions offers are made to children on the waiting list according to the following priority:
siblings of children who have previously attended the kindergarten (in the order in which their name appears on the waiting list)
residency as outlined above
